However, due to its geographical surroundings it also contains zinc, magnesium, iron, copper, calcium, selenium and cobalt, as well as decomposed plant matter, namely algae and chlorophyll. The main contributing factor to the colour of green clay is the interaction and oxidation of iron in tandem with the decomposed plant matter.
