The Xbox Wireless Controller comes with a USB-C cable that makes it easy to play games on a Windows gaming PC or tablet. However, many users have reported issues when connecting the controller to their devices. When it connects for the first time to a Windows machine, it requires a firmware update that disables the "Elite" part of the controller. This update causes the controller to no longer be recognized as an Elite, but only as a normal Xbox controller, which means that the paddles on the back cannot be used. Updating the controller and removing the old Xbox controller entries in the Device Manager does not help. Feedback suggests that while the controller works wired, it struggles when used wirelessly, particularly in relation to steam. The cheap analog sticks are criticised as they cause drift, which is an issue experienced on other gaming controllers, including those Considered cheaper. Nevertheless, the rear paddles feel great, and the extra joystick sticks are a great feature. As per other reviews, the sound of the directional pad is noticeable even at low volume levels.
