- Precision autofocus and metering are driven by a 61-point High Density Reticular AF system with 41 cross-type points and a 150,000-pixel RGB plus IR metering sensor. Canon iTR technology enhances subject tracking by recognizing color and faces, while anti-flicker shooting ensures consistent exposure under artificial lighting during bursts and critical capture moments.
- Designed to maximize sharpness at ultra-high resolution, the 5DS incorporates an advanced mirror vibration control system and selectable shutter release lag to reduce internal shock. Crop shooting modes at 1.3x and 1.6x extend lens reach while retaining high resolution, supported by full AF coverage and in-viewfinder crop display options.
- Professional handling is reinforced through a magnesium alloy body with weather resistance, Intelligent Viewfinder II with 100 percent coverage, and a 3.2 inch ClearView II LCD.
