Elle Kennedy All Books Editorial Review
Elle Kennedy's latest book in the Briar U series, The Risk, is a delightful and skillfully written novel. Brenna Jensen and Jake Connelly are the main characters in this romantic story. Brenna, the daughter of Briar's hockey head coach, requires Jake's assistance in gaining an internship by pretending to be her boyfriend. Jake, who is Harvard's hockey captain and Brenna's rival, agrees on a condition that she finds him a real date for every fake date. The plot is cleverly crafted, and the banter between the characters is entertaining. Their chemistry is hot, and their growth throughout the novel is excellent. The background story with Brenna's dad and Eric Royce adds more insight into the plot. Every part of The Risk is exceptional, and it's difficult to put the book down. The book deserves five stars.
