Behringer Multipurpose CB 101 Editorial Review
The Behringer Condenser Gooseneck Microphone for Instrument Applications (CB 100) is a versatile microphone that can be used on a range of bell instruments such as saxophones, trumpets, and trombones. The Construction is solid, the pickup pattern is impressive, and the overall responsiveness of the mic is noteworthy. It provides a hotter sound than the Shure version, and the gain requirements are lower for getting the ideal horn tone. This microphone is not permanently attached to the input, which is an advantage over the more expensive Shure version that has proven to be a failure point. However, it is worth mentioning that the microphone does not come with a clip, but compatible clips are available for purchase. While this microphone may not be ideal for miking up guitars due to feedback issues, it is still an excellent option for bell instruments and even accordions.
