Answer: It is continuously variable, however it is not precisely graduated. Turning the dial 10% doesn't equate to a 10% change in speed. Play it by ear. -

Answer: It should work great with my router. -

Answer: It sounds like a pretty good bet that it would work on a 14' bandsaw. -

Answer: I have not tried it but I don't see why it would not work on a bench grinder. I would say Yes it will work. -

will this work on a 12amp sawzall?
Answer: No is the professional answer, but in reality, it will work on a 12amp sawzall. However, keep the motor of the sawzall under 3/4 speed and don't give the blade much resistance. -
Question:
I have a dremel 1680 scroll saw will this work?
Answer: Speed controls like this one only work with brushed motors. If your scroll saw has a brushless motor, it won't work. You have to check your motor out. -
Question:
how to tell the speed the router is going in reference to where the dial is on the regulator?
Answer: These type of controls are uncalibrated. Turning the dial any 6 degrees of arc does not increase or decrease the rpm a consistent amount. Rely on your ears and experience. -
Question:
I have an old 1970's model drill press that someone replaced the original variable speed with a dimmer switch, would this switch work on my drill?
Answer: The router speed control is likely better than the dimmer switch, but neither one is ideal for a brushless motor. It is best to get the right part in this case.
