Medo LA-120 Piston Air Pump
The Medo LA-120 Piston Air Pump is a relatively quiet and energy-efficient pump that can be used to aerate large ponds and aquariums. It has a one-inch outside diameter outlet and requires one-inch inside diameter tubing. It is recommended to use one dual diffuser with this pump. However, it can run two units if the ponds are located near the pump, at a reasonable depth and the hose from the pump is long enough to reach both ponds. Customers have shared mixed experiences using the pump. Some have reported that the pump gave out before the expected five-year life span, while some have been using the pump for extended periods since 2013. The item needs to be rebuilt frequently because the cylinder walls wear out beyond repair which affects the air output. It is expensive compared to the smaller Medo 80 and doesn’t put out much more air than the 80. Nevertheless, the pump is an excellent option compared to diaphragm pumps and other brands in the market. **
